I want to share with you, my little side wall beside my bed, I call in my inspiration wall. This is a funny wall, our house has a very sloped roof, so upstairs bedrooms have walls more like ceilings. Acadian style, here in Louisiana. Anywho, when I am feeling anxiety or stress, mornings are sometimes moments I am "in my head" and if I have something on my mind, as soon as my eyes open, the thoughts are there...so... when my friend Sherry gifted me this canvas, I hung it so I would see it first thing in the morning... and I would remember, the message behind it. I added a piece I threw together yesterday.
I had an oopsie canvas I created, and I was not happy with it. (side note, be careful adding cheesecloth for "texture"...) so I tried to remove it and save the canvas, no dice. I tore it...so it was for me. I added an old book cover collage with my word for the New Year. Clarity...
So now, when I wake up, if I feel I need a little reminder, I have them.

a long wait
This has been one of the longest waits that I think I have experienced in a very long time. Thinking back, maybe the wait to see Steve come home from oversea deployments, might be a close runner up...but that was ages ago...lol.
Since Mom fell 2 weeks ago and broke her hip, this has been an emotional roller coaster. For all of us...I decided to stay put until Sunday, as my Dad is also having back surgery Monday. He wanted to put it off, and I think still struggles with it, but he is in pain and has been for way to long...thanks to healthcare in this country...but finally was able to have his MRI and get his answer to the pain.
I have been waiting and wondering, once I am able to see for myself and see my parents, I know I will feel better and be ready to do everything I can to help. I have held most of this in, didn't want to chat on Facebook much because I knew Dad might be upset knowing how upset I was...although, he knows. Dad's know...
Last week brought a set back for mom, she wasn't able to put weight on her leg that was effected by the break, her re-hab was painful so a trip to the surgeon and x-rays showed 2 more stress fractures. Mom has Osteoporosis and this is the cause. I am afraid this will be a lengthy re-hab and I am just praying and praying she will be able to stay focused and get past the fears of being in a skilled care and be able to do the things she must do. I am fearful that I will be away from home, miss my husband and not have him to lean on. I know there are many life lessons in this experience and I think finding my way, might just be one of them. Living this far from them, will be so hard. I just can't stop my mind from projecting ahead and I know that does no good, at all!!!! So praying also for me, for the strength and guidance to be able to do just that.
I am not sure how this will play out, I know it is all in God's hands, but at least the time is approaching that I can be there...I hope the rest just falls into place.

a trouble tree
I found this on beliefnet.com...
The carpenter I hired to help me restore an old farmhouse had just finished a rough first day on the job. A flat tire made him lose an hour of work, his electric saw quit, and now his ancient pickup truck refused to start.
While I drove him home, he sat in stony silence.
On arriving, he invited me in to meet his family. As we walked toward the front door, he paused briefly at a small tree, touching tips of the branches with both hands.
When opening the door, he underwent an amazing transformation. His tanned face was wreathed in smiles, and he hugged his two small children and gave his wife a kiss.
Afterward he walked me to the car. We passed the tree, and my curiosity got the better of me. I asked him about what I had seen him do earlier.
"Oh, that's my trouble tree," he replied. "I know I can't help having troubles on the job, but one thing's for sure, troubles don't belong in the house with my wife and the children. So I just hang them up on the tree every night when I come home. Then in the morning I pick them up again.
"Funny thing is," he smiled, "when I come out in the morning to pick 'em up, there ain't nearly as many as I remember hanging up the night before."
I don't know who first told this story-no one seems to know-but he or she must have been a very wise person. Putting boundaries around our problems is a really good idea-it prevents our difficulties from spilling over onto other people (especially loved ones), who can't do anything about our problems. Why burden them if they can't help us?
So, plant yourself a trouble tree outside your front door-or a potted trouble plant, if you live in an apartment-and use it whenever you come home.
Be grateful that you have loved ones to go home to, even if your loved one is simply your beloved dog or cherished cat or prized goldfish.
And when you pick up your troubles on the way out each morning, be grateful that they're not as heavy as they were the night before.
