Sweet Key Necklace

I saw that my friend Heather, had shown a link from her Etsy shop, Bluhm Studio .  I spied these wonderful necklaces, made by Heather and her daughter Hannah.  I had to have one...I am not one for wearing "art type" necklaces, but this one stole my heart. And look at the package, so cute I didn't want to open it.

Hannah has her own business cards, and wrote a personal thank you on the back, so sweet.
Here is the pretty necklace, thank you Heather...and Hannah!  I am going to take it to the city with me today...
I will be spending a couple days with my hubby, who is working in the city this week.  I plan some time by the rooftop pool with my Nook, weather and humidity permitting...and some fun with my camera, in the French Quarter.

My little new (old) step stool

Remember this?
After a nice coat of paint from Home Depot...they sell itty bitty jars of paint, any color for under 3.00.  Who knew?  I chose a yellow color and wondered if I would be happy with it...and I must say, yes, yes I am.  I then used the sander a bit and added a bit of dark stain.  Easy peacy...

So now I have a "vintage like" step stool, in my kitchen.
Of course, this is a very modern style stool, so you can only do so much.
Off to see what else I can paint this wonderful yellow color.

prim to "all dressed up"

One day, I will remember to take BEFORE photos.
This is a little primitive pin keep that I had among some sewing items in a vignette.  Gone is the vignette, remember the purge of last week?  I bought this needle case from a lady on Ebay years ago.  I saw as something a bit different and decided to see what I got.
The fabric is a blue floral print and some wonderful ticking.  I added a bit of lace and some vintage findings including this corner bracket that adorned an antique frame.  I made the little rolled flower from some old lace, with an old pearl as the center.  Tucked away is the mini collage I created with another image from Kim's wonderful collection.  You can find her digital photos, here.  They are spectacular...

RE-PURPOSED

Ok, so I am going around my house and thinking I am a bit tired of a few treasures I have been holding on to. I do like beautiful clutter, but now I am craving a "scaled down" look of my designed clutter. So I am caving in and letting some things go, listing them in my Etsy vintage shop, Remember Yesterday. So I get to some old antique electric insulators. I bought a lot in an auction a while back, lots of white and a few blue, 1 aqua.

So while checking some prices in Etsy listings, I saw a very clever use for these. (I must give credit to the smart cookie who thought of this) Insert a flicker candle….GENIOUS. So I will keep one or two and use them now in this way…
Whatcha think?
