I am really enjoying my Body Book, art journal...that I am making from Brave Girls, Body Restoration. In fact, I think I love it...I open it and look thru it many times. I wish I could show you, but I wouldn't want to breech any regulations. I think I am enjoying it, because I have the idea of what to do on my projects. I have the images..and can see Melody's book. Many times I incorporate my own style here and there, or use my own images. So I think this is the difference. I already have my direction. Melody's way of Prepping the art journal, was genius. At first I thought this is so much work, why am I doing this. Now I am glad I did. So when I get these ready to prep...I will share that.
I found these at the Goodwill for 1.00 each. I love the sizes and the weigh of the pages. I like the idea of letting some of the pages show through...these will be my next journal, if in fact I try again.
Hi Kathy! I am loving that Health book....as a matter of fact, I love old books period! It took me a long time to get into Art journaling...I love keeping journals, but the actual "art" process was daunting. Some of my early work looks like a Kindergarten class.
ReplyDeleteDon't you LOVE Goodwill and old books? Ours has a ton...I found one from 1942 on Horses the other day and I love it. Old drawings inside are what make me buy them. They just don't make them like they used to!

We have been learning in my class about making vintage books into journals too!! I have some old books but could not bring myself to cut one up. I guess I better do like you do and hit Goodwill and see what I can find. After they are finished they look awesome. Some of the girls in the class made really nice ones. I made mine with pizza cardboard under neath a pizza. I have saved them for a long time and said I bet I can use these sometime.....well I did....made a round journal.
