I really love to use these tintypes in my art; somehow they just feel so sweet. Today, with the gadget's we have, taking a picture is so irrelevant. But back in the day, you may only have one or two photographs of yourself, let alone your family. They are just so unique and "worth" seeing and touching...Such solemn faces, and sometimes blurs from the long wait of the camera...just find it so interesting. Anyway, here are a couple new pieces, using these photographs.
I have a few tintypes myself and I love the way you used them in your art!!!
ReplyDeleteI have a couple of these in a box somewhere. I really love what you did with these, food for thought. You do such lovely, creative art. Hugs, mary
ReplyDeleteI love both of the pieces. Lots of different textures that really make the pieces work.
ReplyDeleteYou did justice to these people!! And yes, those photographs from way back when. I have some of family and I marvel at how they were done. I have one of my great grandparents taken on their wedding day in 1885!!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful works of art you made!! I always wonder about the stories of the people in those old photos.
