Well, yesterday I was struck with an idea, my muse was screaming at me to pay attention. I did. She was taking me way out of my comfort zone....but you know what, it was fun. This just came together and I am not sure if I will sell it or not, not a very cohesive piece in my shop!?! But she may make her way there, we shall see. Now for sale:

I used an old spool and covered it with batting and seam binding. Next some rusty wire and of course, some jewels. This is one of the doll heads I have remaining from the lot of doll parts I found last year. So here is the new assemblage, "hey Doll face".
Sidenote: I wish you could have seen my husbands face when I showed this to him this morning, priceless... lol
Kathy, I think you need to try to get this one published! It's so unique!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Jessie, I love the direction you're going with this Kathy, CONGRATS!
ReplyDeleteI knew this was a Kathy Maximo design the minute I saw it. Fabulous piece, you do need to submit!

ReplyDeleteHello dear friend, Love your new "digs"....beautiful and so "you". Think you should keep working outside the box because this piece is brilliant....Hugs...
ReplyDeleteI dig it. I mean granted it scares me a little bit but its like a very cool voodoo doll for somebody who is a seamstress, or... seamster (not to be sexist). It looks vaguely french. Diggable.
ReplyDeletewhat fun! Isn't it fun pushing past the comfort zone? Look forward to future creations
ReplyDeleteI love the whole feel of the piece, Kathy. Creepy but not too creepy. Intriguing and curious. Right up my alley for sure!
