Old dogs...

Ok, what is this new look for Blogger?
Wonder if this will go well...let's try.
While I was looking for old door knobs, I did find a few things I had to have. 
I have started a vintage dog collection.  It is small right now.  Let's see what I can do about that.

They are old, chipped a bit...worn a bit more, but to me...I loved them.  The brown one with the goofy eyes, well who could put that back on a shelf?  The other one, the mama just looks so sweet and gentle...she had to be part of the collection as well.

I think the bee on the nose did it, and I thought of Rocky's eyes when I saw this one.  To funny!

Yard Sale finds...

Just a few.
I tend to be so excited to go, then get a bit bored...and this one had a crowd.
It was a yard sale in the town of Abita Springs, La.  The whole town...many cars, many children, crowded streets...and it got hot!  See where I am going here?
But I did manage to find a few things...

no idea what I will do with it yet, but it made me smile!

This little town is full of unique things.  Quaint houses, fancy architecture and lots of charm.  I plan a trip to take photos soon.  On a nice day, without humidity... It is right down the road, and filled with things to photograph.

I was one of the happy winner's of a very generous GIVEAWAY, hosted by my friend Carol Berger.  She is a wonderful artist that I met on the Etsy forums.  We share the love of vintage elements to our art work.  And she found herself with too much stuff?  Sound familiar?  I know I have a good bit, but I now have more...and some lovely stuff.  let me show you...

 Of course I love old photos, there are so many.  And quite a few of the paper frames, the frame with the tinted woman, has glass in it, so unique.

And now a few of my favorites... you know, sometimes they just speak to you.  And you just feel a connection with them for some reason...

My friend, you spoiled me.  As I told you on Facebook, my muse has left the building...I know this will bring her back to me.  I already have some ideas for the paper frames...While in Pa. I went to JoAnn's...(we don't have one in La.) and I stocked up on canvas's...minis and squares.  I feel the desire to create once more.  It has been awhile since I have just lost myself in my art.  Long over due...

 I have thinned out my shop, Remember Yesterday and I am also thinning out my collection.  It is time to go on the hunt for more goodies...for me and for my shop!  While I was gone, I had a good many items sell at the consignment shop I go to, had 2 nice checks waiting for me... so later today I just may go and browse a bit.
I woke today to FABulous weather here in Louisiana.  A nice cool, dry morning...I opened a couple windows and will enjoy this sweet air, while it lasts.  I hope you have a lovely Saturday, whatever you are doing....

A NEW TREASURE

Yesterday my friend and I went on a road trip to Picayune Mississippi, to an estate sale.  Of course when they two of us get together we have fun...many laughs and special memories.  It was not a big sale we did manage to find some things though.  Then we ventured out to some antique and thrift shops.  Bought a few more things there.  I want to show you my prized treasure....

Of course me being the dog lover that I am, I noticed this right away....then I saw 30% off, then I saw the little girl and her untied shoe and dolly in her hand....yep, I had to have it.  Is she not just precious, look at her sweet face.  I am sure I will have a piece of art with them as the inspiration, real soon.

I AM WORKING IN A VINTAGE BOUTIQUE NOW.....

No, didn't find a new job...not even looking yet.  But this shop I am working in is my Etsy shop for all of my treasures I am letting go.

Remember Yesterday, poor darlin has sat without much love to speak of. I have time now and I plan to work hard on both of my shops.  This is my second day spent in this one.  Lots of new listings, re-vamping some photos, and updating my profile and policy pages.  This has been kind of fun...
